Always clean morels thoroughly before cooking. If there is any mold on the mushroom then discard and DO NOT consume. Soak morels in salt water for about 30 minutes then rinse mushrooms thoroughly, and dry with a paper towel. Let stand until dry.
Morels adapt well to most types of cooking. Enjoy the nutty morel flavor by preparing them without using a lot of seasonings that might overpower them. Petite and medium size morels are used to flavor soups, sauces and stews or can be battered and fried. Large morels can be stuffed with crabmeat or your favorite cheese for a unique and delicious appetizer.
